This is a two hotel walking holiday. Starting in the Poquiera gorge we make our way further east. Walking some of the classic trails along the way and walking some fabulous high level routes (above 3000m).
We also have a fabulous rest day, spending the day in Granada and the Alhambra.

This itinerary includes excellent hotel accommodation, breakfasts, dinners and lunches on walk days. It also includes airport transfers and transport throughout the week in Spain and professionally guided walks, as well as a day to Granada and the Alhambra.

Autumn Special Itinerary

Day 1

Meet at Malaga airport and transfer to Capileira, Hotel Finca los llanos.
Welcome drinks and introduction to the week.

Day 2

3 Villages – 9km – 5-7hrs
A great walk to introduce you to the area, walking down the Poquiera Gorge and walking through the popular villages of Pampaneira, Bubion and back to Capileira.

Day 3

Transfer to walk 15mins
Sierra Mecina – 12 km – 4 -6 hrs
Varied walk through the la Taha region, walking on ancient mule tracks and through some of the best unspoilt villages in Las Alpujarras.

Day 4

Check out of Hotel
Transfer to Trevelez
Siete Lagunas – 18km – 6-8hrs
A challenging walk but worth the effort to make to the beautiful seven lakes surrounded by the Arete of Mulhacen the highest mountain in mainland Spain.
Option to climb Mulhacen depending on times. (25km – 8-10hrs)

Transfer onto hotel Alquiera de Morayma (30 mins)

Day 5

Granada and Alhambra excursion.
A full day in the magnificent city of Granada with tickets to the Alhambra.

Day 6

Walk into the ‘Campo’ – 16km – 5-7hrs
Circular walk from hotel Alquiera de Morayma.
A walk taking us through the lower Alpujarras and walking through some very traditional villages.

Day 7

3000 metre ridge – 16km -5-7hrs
4X4 to 2600 metres and the highest point in the Sierra Nevada.
A wild walk with breathtaking views all day long. We walk to the top of the Sierra Nevada ridge where we can see down into the Tabernas Desert 3000 metres below.
